Fish: Striped Bass #: 19 Largest: 35" (17 lbs)
Location: Western Beaches-Rockaway Reef
Crew: Fred

A repeat of last week. We headed west in the 25 foot range and began drifting on a 3-by rig with fresh clams. At first, it was all Fred. He had 4 bass & I had 4 trash fish (1 skate, 1 sea robin, 1 sand shark & 1 fluke). Then, finally, I had my first bass while Fred was into his fifth. It was slow but productive. Then, the wind died down a bit and the fish got thicker & bigger too. It was double header after double header and these fish were almost keepers by the old 36" standards. Final count, Fred 10 & captain had 9, but once again, I had the big one!
