Fish: Striped Bass #: 59!! Largest: 36"
Location: Western Beaches-Rockaway Reef 33 foot depths
Crew: Bob (Duke), Allan (Windiz)
We started off debating what kind of fish we would go for today. I was voting for sea bass. Bob was in the middle, but Allan wanted Stripers. We were prepared for both and decided to do sea bass in the morning and stripers in the evening. As we broke the inlet, I noticed a ton of marks on the fishfinder. We stopped for a bit, but there were no takers. But, as we drifted throwing tins, we decided it was too rough to anchor over a wreck, so we flipped the plan and went for Stripers. A very good move. First thing, Allan was into a fish. Then another & another. Bob and I were getting a bit annoyed when Allan had his 4th fish & we were fishless! I told Bob not to worry, I would soon catch him. & soon I did. Bob first, then me. In no time, it was Allan & I both at 12 & Bob at 4. For the longest time, Allan & I stayed neck-&-neck while Bob too caught a few. The final score was Allan 20, Bob 17 & the skipper had 22. All fish were taken on clams. Most at anchor with clam chum. It was great.
