Date: Saturday September 3, 2005 Fish: Fluke
#: 11 (& a few nice seabass) Largest: 6.5 pounds
Location: Cholera
Crew: Bob, Tommy & Hal
Saturday was an interesting day. Reports of great big fluke were common in the area just west of Cholera (Middle Grounds) So, with a dozen live snappers, another dozen live baby bunker and a bunch of squid, sand eels & huge spearing, we headed to the Angler banks. The wind was blowing pretty good from the North West. Dispite the close & building 3 foot waves, we made good time and were fishing by 8am. After about an hour & a few drifts, we decided to try right smack in Cholera (figuring the draggers read the reports too and cleaned this place out. The radio was full of people trying to catch fluke and not doing it. Once in the rubble, we began to loose rigs but we got a few too. Bob scored first using a live bunker. I switched to live bait. Tommy & Hal had lost a few rigs then "borrowed" 2 of my chrome bullets when the rigs ran out. They scored almost immediately. Once again the fluke wanted jigs even over live bait.
