Date: Sunday November 4, 2006 Fish: Blackfish, Striped Bass
#: 5 bf & 4 stripers Largest: various
Location: Rockaway reef
Crew: Dom, Allan & Bob

Interesting day. Anytime you get to go fishing in November, it's interesting.
We spent the morning on a few wrecks trying to get some blackfish in the cooler. The day before they hammered them. This day no one was doing anything. Still we managed 5 decent fish (Thanks to Bob and I)
Next we set off to look for some stripers. A lone dragger was clamming. We made 1 drift behind him and wham! 2 lines went off and 1 fish in the cooler. We set up shop there with chum and bait and almost instantly attracted HUGE dogfish. Fishing through them was hard work but every 5th fish was a striper. By the time we lifted anchor we ran through a quarter bushel of bait and had our limit of keepers. Maybe 6 other fish released and about a dozen doggies.
Special condolences to Windiz who went fishless for the day...
As Dom always says, sometimes the sun shines on another dogs ass.
